Kristal Coleman - The Founder
Kristal Coleman, a mother who tragically lost her daughter Mia a year ago, has become an inspiring figure for parents enduring the heartache of losing a child. In her grief journey, Kristal found the strength to reach out and support others facing unimaginable pain.
Driven by her determination to make a difference, Kristal founded the M.I.A Foundation Mission in Agape is a nonprofit organization that assists grieving parents. The foundation provides solace and resources to parents and is crucial in raising awareness of issues like gun violence and domestic violence, striving to create safer communities for families.
An upcoming Gala organized by the foundation aims to raise funds and awareness for their cause. The Tamia Coleman Memorial Scholarship
Purpose - Through the establishment of this scholarship from The MIA Foundation, our goal is to provide a deserving student matriculating from Soulsville Charter School with the financial support they need to attend the University of Memphis and pursue their academic and professional goals. We believe that by investing in this student's education, we can make a significant impact not only on their individual future, but also on the communities they will serve as a result of their success. We hope that this scholarship will serve as a catalyst for positive change and inspire others to support education and opportunity for all.

Senator London Lamar currently serves Tennessee as chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus and is the youngest female legislator in the Tennessee General Assembly. She is also the youngest African American to ever serve in the Tennessee State Senate. As the conscience of the legislature, Senator Lamar champions strong schools, healthy families, and safe neighborhoods. She has passed legislation that advances maternal health, human trafficking, criminal justice, and voting rights. As the Senator for Senate District 33, Senator Lamar holds membership to two Senate committees: Judiciary and Finance, Ways and Means. Senator Lamar is honored to have received recognition from over 10 organizations and to have appeared in three publications for her work that uplifts families and communities.
